Durante a última passagem pelo Brasil, em sua turnê mundial, a banda foi introduzida na família Evoke. Atualmente, em turnê divulgando o seu último trabalho, Death to Tyrants, o baterista da banda, Armand Majidi, comenta o lançamento do último CD do SOIA: “Esse álbum é um marco na nossa história, por isso foi importante ele ser forte e pesado. Existem comentários políticos em diversas músicas, por causa das visões de um mundo não tão bom como as de hoje em dia. Continuamos a compartilhar nossas experiências pessoais e esperamos que as pessoas possam relacioná-las com as experiências de qualquer um.”

Sick Of It All influenciou várias bandas do movimento HardCore, como o lendário Agent Orange, e hoje reúne uma legião de fãs por todo o mundo. Essa parceria deixa bem claro as ligações da Evoke com o cenário da música mundial e com as raízes dos movimentos artísticos e culturais.

SICK OF IT ALL AT FAMIGLIA EVOKE

American band Sick Of It All, originally from Brooklyn, New York, has become the newest member of the Famiglia Evoke. A HardCore classic, they are consecrated as one of the most renowned bands of the scenario, proving that music is much more than image and attitude, it’s a life style.

The band was introduced to the Famiglia Evoke in their last visit to Brazil, during the world tour. Armand Majidi, the band’s drummer, on tour disclosing his last work, ‘Death to Tyrants’, commented on the release of SOIA’s last album: “This album is a landmark in our history, reason why it had to be strong and heavy. There are some political comments in many songs, due to the visions of a world not as good as the visions of today. We still share our personal experiences and hope that people can relate them with their own experiences.”

Sick Of It All has influenced various bands of the HardCore scene, such as legendary Agent Orange, gathering a legion of fans worldwide. This partnership makes it clear Evoke connections with the world music scenario and with the roots of artistic and cultural movements.

Marcando presença constante em desfiles aguardados para a temporada de verão, a Evoke foi convidada pela Sampaka a participar como marca exclusiva de óculos do desfile e apresentou os seus mais novos lançamentos para a temporada 2006/2007.

O III Golf Life Day, realizado entre os dias 29 e 30 na Fazenda da Grama, em Vinhedo, foi promovido pela revista Golf Life e pela Mercedes-Benz. O evento consiste em um final de semana marcado por um torneio de golfe profissional, reunindo um público selecionado com o propósito de passar um dia descontraído, além de acompanhar desfiles com as principais tendências da moda.

EVOKE AT GOLF DAY’S PARADE

Marking its presence in fashion shows awaited for the summer season, Evoke has been invited by Sampaka to participate as the exclusive sunglass brand for its show, where it could present its newest releases for the 2006/2007 season.

The III Golf Life Day, held on the 29th and 30th at Fazenda da Grama, Vinhedo, was promoted by Golf Life magazine and by Mercedes-Benz. The event consisted of a weekend hosting a professional golf tourney, gathering a selected audience with the purpose of having a pleasant day, with the opportunity of following the main trends of fashion.

Com a intenção de chamar e entreter a atenção dos expectadores externos e convidá-los a refletir sobre o ambiente, muitas vezes caótico que os cerca, a Evoke fez uma experiência artística baseada na intervenção urbana. O personagem criado foi o “Cone Observador”, que colocado estrategicamente nas ruas de São Paulo interagiu de forma nada convencional com as pessoas.

A arte como intervenção urbana pode transformar o ambiente de forma rápida e instantânea e oferecer uma nova percepção aos expectadores fisgados pela curiosidade.

EVOKE URBAN INTERVENTIONS

With the intent of calling the attention and entertaining the external spectators and to invite them to reflect on the environment surrounding us, in many times chaotic, Evoke makes an artistic experience based on the urban intervention. The character created was the “Observing Cone“, which, being strategically placed in the streets of São Paulo, has interacted with the people in an unusual fashion

Art as urban intervention can change the environment in a fast, instantaneous way, further offering a new perception to the spectators caught by curiosity.

O mês de setembro marcou a abertura da vernissage da exposição Evoke Art Gallery, que é a pioneira na união da street art e design de óculos, iniciando um ciclo de exposições itinerantes por diversas galerias de arte.

Desta vez foi apresentada na Galeria Adesivo em Porto Alegre. Muito bem conceituada, a Adesivo é famosa por sua relação próxima e intercâmbio de arte com as galerias européias, trazendo exposições de artistas contemporâneos nacionais e internacionais.

Alguns deles foram convidados a participar do projeto Evoke Art Gallery. Nomes como Felipe Yung “Flip”, Pifo, Iggor Cavalera, Laima Leyton, SHN, ASA, Flávio Samelo, Markone e Chivitz entre outros.

A Evoke Art Gallery segue o seu roteiro de exposições com suas próximas paradas em São Paulo e no Rio de Janeiro.

ART GALLERY IN PORTO ALEGRE

September was marked by the opening of the vernissage of the Evoke Art Gallery exhibition, pioneer in combining street art and sunglass design, starting with a cycle of itinerant exhibitions in a few art galleries.

This time the exhibition was presented at Galeria Adesivo, in Porto Alegre. Largely renowned, Adesivo is famous for its close relationship and for exchanging art with European galleries, promoting exhibitions of national and international contemporaneous artists.

Some of these artists have been invited to participate in the Evoke Art Gallery project. Names such as Felipe Yung “Flip”, Pifo, Iggor Cavalera, Laima Leyton, SHN, ASA, Flávio Samelo, Markone and Chivitz, among others, are included.

The Evoke Art Gallery will continue with its schedule of exhibitions with the next stops in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

A Evoke foi a marca exclusiva de óculos do evento. Com o tema Hotel Paradise, os novos lançamentos da Evoke completaram looks incríveis, e dentro deste conceito a estação mais celebrada do ano foi recebida em uma atmosfera de férias de verão.

Um passeio entre as décadas do século XX e um mix de referências e estilos surge na passarela. Na platéia estavam presentes nomes como Marcos Mion, Caroline Bittencourt e Álvaro Garnero, Felipe Solari e André Vasco (VJs MTV), Fernando Scherer (Xuxa), entre outros.

O evento foi um grande sucesso onde a Evoke apresentou as novas tendências de cores e design de óculos para 2007 se firmando definitivamente no mercado fashion.

DOC DOG FASHION SHOW AT IGUATEMI-SP

Doc Dog, brand renowned for its style and innovation, invited Evoke Eyewear to present its new releases for the 2007 summer in an exclusive fashion show held at Shopping Iguatemi in São Paulo.

Evoke was the exclusive sunglass brand of the event. On the theme Hotel Paradise, Evoke’s new releases have complemented incredible looks, and following this concept the most celebrated season of the year was welcomed in an atmosphere of summer vacation.

A nostalgic walk through the decades of the 20th century and a mix of references and styles appear in the catwalk. Names such as Marcos Mion, Caroline Bittencourt and Álvaro Garnero, Felipe Solari and André Vasco (MTV VJs), Fernando Scherer (Xuxa), among others, were part of the audience.

The event was a great success, where Evoke presented the new trends of sunglass color and design for 2007, definitively conquering its space in the fashion market.

ASA, Aka Carlos Dias, 32, foi um dos primeiros artistas que iniciou o trabalho de colagem de lambe-lambes e stickers na rua como intervenção urbana. Seu desenho cru e caótico pode ser considerado o expressionista de hoje em dia, não escondendo nada em seus traços e sem a preocupação de seguir alguma estética pré-definida. Segundo ele, a arte é para todos.

ASA, aka Carlos Dias, 32, was one of the first artists to start doing collage with street flyers and stickers as a form of urban intervention. His raw, chaotic drawings can make him a expressionist, having nothing to hide in his lines and no worry in following any pre-defined aesthetic. To him, art is for all.
